Through my journey in Composition two, I have experienced visible growth and my writing skills have improved tremendously. In this semester I have significantly grown as a writer, communicator, and it has forced me to dig deeper when doing my research. When I started this course, I wasn’t sure what to expect. As a junior in high school, I took Composition one last semester, but found this course to be slightly more of a challenge. It required me to stay more organized, think critically, and even taught me how to better analyze information. I am very glad I took this class because it has really helped me improve my writing skills and has even taught me a lot about myself.

The topic I choose for my essays throughout this course was suicide. I decided to pick this topic because it has become a major problem in society today and it is important for people to understand that. The most difficult project for me was the rhetorical analysis essay, but ultimately it taught me the most. I had never written an essay like that before, so it pushed me to expand, learn, and adapt quickly. I developed new writing skills while learning a lot about Franz Kafka, his life, how he would react to the suicide epidemic today, and what he would think about it. I thought it was very interesting to research and write about a person that I normally wouldn’t.

Overall this course has been a very valuable learning experience. It has helped me improve on many different levels while also helping me develop more into the person I am. The skills that I have learned through this course will continue to help me in my future academic work as well as professional writing. Although some tasks seemed difficult in the moment, I am thankful for the challenges this course possessed. I now have a strong and steady foundation in writing that I can continue to grow on and learn from.
